The weekend of October 6th& 7th is one of the best weekends of the year in Manhattan Beach. It kicks off with the Annual 10K run through the streets of downtown MB and the tree section and ends at the finish line at the pier. 4,000 + runners, joggers, walkers of all ages come out to attempt to complete the 6.2 mile challenging course. The run is always fun with lots of people lining the course cheering on the runners and several very entertaining bands playing along the route.
After the run, everyone heads to the Fair where there are all kinds of food booths, (Don’t miss the Pepper Belly’s) an arts & crafts fair, a battle of the bands, game booths, the diaper derby and of course the Beer garden, otherwise known as liquor prison. The Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach also sponsors a wine garden with great live music and winetasting. I am pretty sure that this is the most civilized area of the entire fair.
